GAS EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS: NOVEC 1230 (FK-5-1-12), INERGEN (IG-541), IG-01, IG-100, ARGONITE (IG-55)
AFFS Sp. z o.o. holds the Certificate for Enterprises No. FGAZ-P/27/0004/16 authorising the marketing and servicing of fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases). Gas extinguishing systems are state-of-the-art solutions for the fire protection of rooms requiring special protection against moisture and contact with other substances. Gas extinguishing systems are ideal in places where other extinguishing solutions could damage valuable library or archive collections, react chemically with the agents stored in the room or cause damage to machinery.
The extinguishing gases used in the fixed SUG systems offered by AFFS Sp. z o.o. are safe for most live electronic equipment and perishable items requiring special protection against external agents.
Gas extinguishing systems for server rooms and other rooms equipped with complex electronic and control devices are the optimal solution to ensure data security through proper fire protection.
Fixed extinguishing systems: FK-5-1-12 (NOVEC 1230™)
Extinguishing with FK-5-1-12 gas extinguishing agents is based on a range of 7 tank sizes, from 8 litres to 180 litres. The tanks supplied have European TPED approvals for transportable tanks. Each tank is equipped with continuous manometric and electronic tank pressure monitoring systems. Any loss of gas is visualised via the manometer display and also in the extinguishing control panel.
Extinguishing agents such as FK-5-1-12 (NOVEC 1230™) (manufactured by 3M) belong to the group of halon substitutes. These state-of-the-art solutions are notably characterised by zero ozone depletion potential (ODP=0). However, the NOVEC 1230™ fire extinguishing agent has a low greenhouse effect potential of one (GWP=1) and is therefore not covered by the European Union Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases) No. 517/2014 of 16.04.2014.
Fire extinguishing systems based on NOVEC 1230™ extinguishing agents are designed for extinguishing Class A, B fires and live equipment such as computers, network servers, cables and UPS.
Extinguishing systems based on NOVEC 1230 (FK-5-1-12) extinguishing agents are designed for extinguishing Class A, B fires and live equipment such as computers, network servers, cables and UPS.
Extinguishing with FM200 or NOVEC 1230 (FK-5-1-12) gas does not take place by reducing the oxygen content, but by physical contact of the extinguishing agent with the fire. This solution ensures efficient, localised fire extinguishing and quickly prevents the fire from spreading in the room.
AFFS Sp. z o.o.'s range of gas extinguishing systems includes single-zone (25 bar) and multi-zone (42 bar) solutions, suitable for different room sizes and extinguishing areas.
SUG Fixed Fire Extinguishing Systems are suitable for applications such as:
A gas extinguishing system is used in a sealed room. The fire extinguishing solutions offered by AFFS Sp. z o.o. include comprehensive preparation, along with guidance and adaptation of building conditions and ventilation systems to ensure adequate fire protection of the facilities served.
SUG: Inert Gases
Fixed extinguishing systems (SUG) offered by AFFS Sp. z o.o. come in four varieties: IG-01, IG-55, IG-100, IG-541. There are both systems based on a central orifice and specially developed constans flow systems with adjustable, constant discharge. The contans flow systems require approximately 60% less relief area than the aforementioned central orifice-based systems.
Both solutions are based on 80 and 140 litre reservoirs, operating at pressures of 200 and 300 bar respectively.
The tanks supplied have TPED approvals in accordance with European standards for transport tanks. Each tank is equipped with a visual and electronic pressure monitoring system. Any gas loss is visualised by a manometer and the data detected by the pressure sensor is transmitted to the extinguishing control centre, which controls the entire process.
Nozzles in the server rooms are fitted with acoustic wave silencers to minimise noise during extinguishing , further protecting the equipment.
Fixed extinguishing systems using inert gases such as Irgonit and Inergen are environmentally friendly, state-of-the-art solutions. These systems have zero ozone depletion potential. The extinguishing gases used in SUG systems have an ODP=0 and their greenhouse effect potential rating is zero (GWP=0).
SUG: Carbon dioxide (CO2)
High-pressure fixed carbon dioxide fire extinguishing systems are invaluable in protecting technology. These systems are based on 67 dm3 tanks, which can store up to 50 kg of CO2.
Special care must be taken when handling these systems, as design concentrations exceed lethal concentrations and the temperature of the extinguishing agent at the nozzle is several dozen degrees below zero. Carbon dioxide fire extinguishing systems are the only ones that are effective in extinguishing rooms with permanently open spaces. It is also possible to extinguish objects that are not enclosed.
For this reason, they are used to extinguish fires in
